October 12-14 2012
Triratna's annual big Young Buddhists weekend. The theme for 2012 is "freedom in a mad world". Here's some info -
Looking around us we can clearly see forces of madness at work in the world: greed, hatred and delusion played out on a grand scale. However, what we sometimes don’t see is that we ourselves are entangled in that net of confusion and fear: that greed, hatred, and delusion are at work in our own hearts.
The Buddha offered a path of liberation from all this. He famously declared that ‘Just as the great ocean has one taste, the taste of salt. So my teaching has one taste, the taste of freedom’.
What is the nature of the freedom he spoke of? How is it to be won? How can we bring the taste and experience of freedom into our own hearts and minds? How can we bring it to the world?
On this retreat we will be exploring these questions through talks, discussion, meditation, ritual and more.
Open to all people on their late teens, 20s and 30s
