A 3 month residential course at Adhisthana providing an opportunity to work, live as a community study, and develop friendships.

The course is designed to provide a multi-faceted training, where you will have the opportunity to experience all parts of your life as a spiritual practice. This will include daily work periods, living as a community, deepening friendships, and community living. Study will support this aim, emphasising the mythic dimension, developing positive emotion and supporting the ability to work with our mental states. It will also include some skills training (e.g. communication, facilitation, creative writing), and an introduction to some of the structures and distinctive emphases of Triratna.

The course will be led by a dharmacharini who will draw on the experience and skills of other women in the Order, and the women’s community at Adhisthana to lead particular weeks.

It will be fully residential, and you will be living in a designated community space at Adhisthana. Community living is an important part of the course and you will be sharing a room whilst you are here. You will have a community night, and a GFR group if you’ve asked for Ordination. You will also participate in the life of the wider Adhisthana community, meditating with them on a daily basis. You will have a Kalyana Mitra in the women’s community as a point of connection, and you will join the Adhisthana Sangha for their community night on three occasions throughout the course.

It is an opportunity to intensify your Dharma practice within a full-time setting, rather than an introductory course. This is an inspiring opportunity that requires a high level of commitment, a willingness to engage in an intense living situation and an ability to take responsibility for yourself within these supportive conditions. Come to deepen your experience of going for refuge at the heart of the Triratna community.

The cost of the course is £1,800. Suggestions as to how you can raise the cost can be given on request, such as fundraising in your local Sangha. A £500 deposit will be required on accepting your place.

Half of the women on all the previous courses have come from outside the UK and this internationality is an important aspect of the course, creating connections across our community and taking the benefit of the course out into the world, so we welcome international applicants.
