Sanghadeva loans some of his savings to Triratna Projects.

Find out more in this post we’ve highlighted from Liz Bassett at FutureDharma Fund.

“When you meet Sanghadeva you realise how much he values community. As his name would suggest, he’s all about sangha - he’s been living and working in communities for over 36 years.

Sanghadeva was one of the first people to move to Adhisthana in 2012. When the small community of Order members arrived to live, practise and work together there, they began to rebuild and convert the...

Friendship is most important

Posted by Liz_Bassett on Thu, 20 Jul, 2017 - 13:14

Following last week’s film about India Dhamma’s Young People’s Projects, this week Liz celebrates the achievements of a young member of our Sangha in India.

Neha Gajbhiye is a graphic designer, film-maker, and a GFR Mitra. She lives in Nagpur with her husband Maitriratna and shares her Buddhist practice with her family, who are also involved in Triratna. But it wasn’t always like this. Neha has worked through incredibly hard circumstances to create this life for herself and her family.

Neha...

Telling Stories: Blazing in the Fires of Sunyata

Posted by akasajoti on Fri, 9 Jun, 2017 - 22:39

I want to begin to experiment with telling the stories of some of the events happening at Adhisthana – I want Adhisthana to be able to reach out all over the Triratna world across oceans and borders, and I want it to be a source of inspiration and positivity in the world and in this community. So over this week I’ll be on a retreat on the theme of Metta and Bodhicitta, and will try to tell you the story...

Sangharakshita's Diary

Posted by Munisha on Mon, 15 May, 2017 - 08:45

Sthanashraddha is Sangharakshita’s secretary. He writes:

“April was certainly a month of growth and birth; it seemed as though every day a new plant or flower was sprouting or coming into bud and blossom. The various nesting ducks have all hatched their ducklings and the swallows and housemartins have returned. Bhante himself seems no less affected or part of this springtime growth, as he has entered into a rich period of writing, going from one set of reflections to the next, addressing one theme...

A Cathedral of Words

The Complete Works of Sangharakshita was launched successfully last October with four volumes published so far. These volumes include previously out of print material such as What is the Sangha?, and never-before published material like various talks by Sangharakshita in India in the 1980s. In addition to these important works, much effort has been made by the editorial team to trace back the source of original teachings and present them as endnotes. The last volume, the Concordance, will index teachings...

Daily quote from 'The Survey': happiness

Posted by vajratara on Fri, 21 Apr, 2017 - 15:13

To celebrate 60 years since the publication of ‘A Survey of Buddhism’, here is your daily quote:

Happiness can be attained wither when existence accords with our desires, or when our desires are in harmony with existence.  True the second alternative is difficult; but the first is impossible.  If we cannot gain happiness by refashioning the world we shall have to find it by reforming ourselves. Ch1.18

Daily quote from 'The Survey': that most perfect of poems

Posted by vajratara on Thu, 20 Apr, 2017 - 22:07

To celebrate 60 years since the publication of ‘A Survey of Buddhism’, here is your daily quote:

Morality is, as it were, the words of that most perfect of all poems, the holy life, the language which makes intelligible the secrets of spirituality.  Meditation and Wisdom, the two remaining stages of the Way, are its rhythm and its imagery.  Ch1.16
