Do you have experience with bookkeeping? Would you like to help support a growing Right Livelihood business?

Virya Group are seeking a part time bookkeeper to help us manage our growing business processes. Ideally familiar with UK accountancy processes and HMRC requirements, you would be responsible for day to day reconciliation and book keeping using our online system Xero, making sure that invoices are marked as paid in a timely manner and processing receipts (training is available if you haven’t used Xero before).

You would also be responsible for making sure that everything is prepared for mandatory returns such as VAT, EC Sales and working with our accountants to prepare the required documentation for end of year accounting.

We operate a monthly review during board meetings, so several reports would also need to be generated from our online system in advance of board meetings.

Hours of work and remuneration are flexible to suit - you can work from home or from our Ipswich-based office. Several of our team work from home, we communicate online using a range of tools during the week. We have a ‘team week’ once a month in Ipswich, where our whole team to come together and have some ‘face time’, we find this very valuable and would encourage you to attend if you choose to work from home.

Virya Group are an Anglo-Dutch Joint Venture business led by CEO Ruth Cheesley (a GFR Mitra from Ipswich), which launched publicly on 1st June 2014. An innovative, forward-thinking technology business which specialises in Open Source technologies, they are established as a Right Livelihood business, and operate to an ethos statement which aligns with the precepts of Buddhism.

Virya Group work with local and international businesses to deliver high quality websites and applications which meet the needs of their organisation. Our web development focuses on the Joomla! Content Management System and the Joomla! Framework.
