Buddhism has a universal teaching that addresses everyone, regardless of their ethnicity, gender, caste, class or nationality.
In this spirit, Triratna has always been an international movement, and from its base in the UK it quickly spread to European countries and New Zealand. Fifty years on, there are over 2,500 Order members and outside India there are around 130 Triratna centres and groups in 26 countries.
There are substantial numbers of Order members in Germany and Spain, Mexico and the US and Australia and New Zealand, as well as many other countries. In India, where over 800 Order members live, there are around 50 Triratna centres and many more local groups.
We have also embraced the spirit of ‘internationality, holding regular international conventions in the UK and India and decentralising our organisational structures wherever possible.
Many core Triratna texts have been translated, and there are now translations in 34 languages.
