We’ve just added an ordination training retreat to our Autumn 2021 programme:
November 8 - 19 The Heart Unbound - Metta as a path to insight with Dayajoti, Maitridevi and Sraddhadipa.
On this retreat we will be exploring metta as a gateway to Insight. The path of metta allows insights to unfold in a relaxed and embodied way as we move more and more deeply into the unconditional love that flows from a boundless heart located nowhere and everywhere. The retreat will include some bodywork...
This year’s annual very popular Women’s Order Retreat at Taraloka will be on the theme of the Bardo Verses taken from the Bardo Thodol – one of the main insight reflections recommended by Bhante from the very early days of the movement.
‘Bardo’ literally means ‘in-between’, so the Bardo of Life is an experience of aliveness arising between dream states. But what does it mean to be alive, to be awake to the full mystery of sensory experience? Every moment is...

A place where great yogis and dakinis gather at night in darkenss and secrecy, meditating, dancing, embracing and drinking from the skull cup of wisdom. A place of liberated...

Now, we can’t even offer solitaries, donations from which, alongside those from online retreat attendees, had been seeing us through. Even when we can offer residential retreats again, social distancing means they will be for small numbers only, so we will be running them...
How can we tame our monkey minds with love? This is a great opportunity to bring our daily-life practice with us on retreat. We’ll take a good look at how the crafty mind creates its own obstacles. Then we’ll use metta, build a sense of solidarity and connection, and learn to understand our most authentic heart’s desires, to release them.
