A five-week course on Monday evenings, 7-8:30pm, beginning March 16th and ending April 13th, 2020.

At PBC we know how hard it can be to find space in a busy life. And with the world going crazy all around us, well, it’s just tough sometimes… So join us this spring and we’ll show you how to sit, simplify your life and let go a little!

Meditation and mindfulness are powerful agents for change in anyone’s life. We’ll learn to turn away from distraction, and explore finding contentment in the experience of our bodies, hearts and minds.

In this class we will share how the Buddha passed on mindfulness to others, as a living principle, and as a meditation practice. You will learn mindfulness using a meditation that has been shared for thousands of years, based just around your breath! And we’ll show you everything you need to get going as a regular and effective meditator.

Whether you’re just looking to find some peace and stillness in your life, or to directly explore the nature of consciousness and the universe itself, this class is a great way to begin! Start out with your breath with us…

Suitable for complete beginners, or those looking for a refresher. Feel free to wear whatever you are comfortable in. We provide meditation cushions, benches and chairs.

Our introductory meditation classes are by donation. For this five-week course we suggest $50-$100 for the entire course ($10-$20 per evening).

Portsmouth Buddhist Center operates with a culture of generosity – most of our expenses in running the center are paid for with donations. If you’d prefer not to book and donate through Eventbrite, you may email portsmouth [at] thebuddhistcenter.com to let us know that you’re coming. You can also book directly through this link.

Onsite donation options include phone payments (Apple Pay and Android Pay), cash, check or card.
