Sangha Nights in December: Illuminating The White Lotus Sutra
On Sat, 24 November, 2012 - 23:00
viriyalila
Join us for Sangha Nights, Wednesday evenings, 7 - 9 pm. Beginning with a meditation (guidance and support available for those who would like it) followed by a presentation and discussion on Buddhist study and/or practice.
In December Suddhayu is presenting themes from The White Lotus Sutra.
Dec 5th: The World on Fire: The Parable of the Burning House — The Buddha describes us as children playing in a house that is engulfed in flames. How does an image like this inform our practice?
Dec 12th: Quenching the Flames: The Parable of Rain and Herbs — A reflective evening on one of the most beautiful parables ever told. How are we nourished by the Dharma?
Dec 19th: Winter Silence — As we approach the longest night of the calendar, an opportunity to deepen our meditation practice. This evening will consist of two meditation sessions instead of one, with a break in between. Enjoy some time to sit quietly and cultivate some peace before the holidays!
Dec 26th: no class
