The Path of Transformation: Embracing Change and Finding Refuge in Unsettled Times
Meditation, Dharma, Community every Sunday 10-11:30am ET,  In-person at Gateway Taiji or Online on Zoom Beginning 09/19

What motivates us to grow with change? What do we turn to when things are difficult? Recently, we have all likely experienced degrees of uncertainty, loss and polarization in navigating the pandemic, climate change and our political climate. We also face the particular challenges of our personal lives and the larger existential conundrums that are part of being human. On any given day, some combination of these weighty matters may well cause us to wonder where we can turn for relief and where we can find guidance on how to live with positivity and even joy.

We find that the Buddha’s view on how to live well with uncertainty is clear: the goal of the Buddhist path is to provide refuge from suffering by cultivating ethical sensitivity, meditative depth and direct awareness of what is real. This fall, as we come together in person for the first time in over a year, our program of Sunday gatherings will focus on this core message. We will emphasize strengthening our meditation practice while exploring how meditation and ethical skilfulness can be mutually uplifting. We will also, once again, have the kinds of conversations among friends that can help us gain perspective on our journey through these challenging times.

Safety:
How are we coming together safely?
In line with Gateway’s policy, we are requiring that all in-person participants be fully vaccinated vs Covid-19. If you are not vaccinated, you may still participate via Zoom.
If you have cold or flu symptoms, we ask that you do not attend in-person, but please attend on Zoom.
Gateway has installed Hepa filters in their HVAC system for air purification.
We will practice social distancing indoors.
Although all in-person participants will be vaccinated, masks are required indoors due to Rockingham County’s current covid transmission rate.
*Please let us know if you have questions or concerns about how we’re coming together.

Our Sunday series will resume in-person at Gateway Taiji (875 Islington St, Portsmouth NH) and online on Zoom beginning Sept 19 and continuing to the end of the year excluding Nov 28 and Dec 26. Sessions are from 10 to 11:30am. Please bring your own water bottle or thermos; we have meditation cushions and chairs at the studio. Join us for the whole series, or drop in as you like. All are welcome! Suggested donation of $10-$15. Your donations help cover our rent and support our programs and teachers.
