Our next four week beginners course starts this week!
Join us on Thursday evenings 7-9 PM, January 19 - February 9, to learn basic meditations for developing mindfulness and positive emotion and get acquainted with the historical figure who is the inspiration for Buddhist practice the world over. Siddhartha Gautama, who became the Buddha more than 2,500 years ago, offers a model for approaching the challenges inherent in life and relationships with deep calm and profound kindness -- positive qualities we can all admire and aspire to cultivate in ourselves. This course will provide a solid introduction to this powerful human being and the practices he taught to enable others to follow the path he discovered.
Dh. Suddhayu will lead this course, sharing his many years of experience with meditation, as well as his extensive study of the Buddha's life and teaching. This course will support you whether you are trying meditation for the first time, curious about Buddhism, or wanting to learn more and grow your practice in a friendly context.
No registration required. Offered by donation: $40 suggested for the four-week course.
