Our sangha celebrated the Buddha’s Enlightenment on the full moon evening of May. Viriyagita led the evening beginning with the Metta Bhavana (Development of Loving-Kindness) meditation where we visualized ourselves meditating under the Bodhi tree in the vicinity of the Buddha. After meditation we listened to stories from the life of the Buddha. We then composed our own gratitude verses, which we shared, and concluded our ritual time together with the chanting of the Ti Ratana Vandana (Salutation to the Three Jewels). It was quite significant to gather as a community of individuals who aspire to this shared ideal of Enlightenment. Sadhu!
