An anniversary and a fundraiser

From North London Buddhist Centre on Mon, 6 Mar, 2023 - 16:24

In 2003, the North London Buddhist Centre opened in its current location on Holloway Road in London.  Since then, we have developed a wonderful practice community here with lots of people benefitting from a space to develop life-changing skills through Buddhist teachings. We recently estimated that there are 11,000 individual visits in a year to our building for meditation, Buddhism and yoga.

This year, we are celebrating 20 years here and our aim for our anniversary is to...

A Tokyo Mitra Ceremony

From Triratna Tokyo on Fri, 17 Feb, 2023 - 09:45

Saturday 18th February 2023, 11:30am, we celebrated Susana Kumagai’s Mitra Ceremony, Tokyo.

Becoming a Mitra in Triratna is making a commitment to the Buddhist Path.

Commitment, because in life, what we get out of it depends on what we put in. Particularly in the spiritual life.

Appreciating and Remembering Tim Lilley

From Karuna Fundraisers on Mon, 9 Jan, 2023 - 15:07

We were sad to hear that Tim Lilley, one of the founders of Aid for India, the charity that has since become Karuna, passed away on the 21st of December 2022.

Tim was instrumental in setting up the first Aid for India fundraising campaigns in the early 1980s, working closely with Kulamitra to introduce door-to-door fundraising into the early Movement. Together they laid the foundations for Karuna as it exists today and introduced many of the radical approaches that still underpin the...

Triratna Valderrobres Appeal

Thu, 15 Dec, 2022 - 09:56

After many years of local people being curious; “who are these women dressed in blue going up the mountain to Akashavana Retreat Centre?”, Mumukshu and Karunavapi are now delighted to offer them the opportunity to find out. When around 100 local people attended the opening of Centro Mandala, where Triratna Valderrobres will have it’s home, it confirmed this interest.

Valderrobres is a small medieval town in rural Aragon, close to the border with Catalonia and Valencia regions, and the arrival...

Hello, I’m Srirajni (pictured left in the image) and I wanted to give a little update on the recent changes at Karuna

To guide Karuna’s fundraising team into the future, I’m excited to be stepping into the role of Joint Head of Fundraising alongside Louise Thomas (who some of you may know from...
