Helping to organise London’s first city-wide celebration of Triratna Community Day next Saturday, Satyapurna writes:
“In days gone by, the first weekend in April was well known as marking the anniversary of the founding of the Triratna Buddhist Community in 1967. FWBO Day, as it was called back then, was an annual celebration celebration of the achievements of our wonderful movement.
This year, all the London Centres (Brixton, Croydon, LBC, NLBC and WLBC) will be coming together on Saturday 9th April at the North London Buddhist Centre to celebrate Triratna Community Day.
In keeping with the ethos of the day, the theme this year is ‘Spiritual friendship’. The programme will include short talks from Ratnaprabha, Jnanavaca, Vajramitra and Saraka, and a panel discussion: ‘Spiritual friendship is the whole of the spiritual life’.
We will also have a preview of Suryaprabha’s new film on the Order, ‘Body and Soul’, followed by an interview with him.
The day starts with a welcome and meditation led by Visuddhimati at 10.00 and finishes with music led by Sumana and friends 19.00-20.00. Throughout the day there will be displays of London-based projects, veggie food to share and of course lots of cups of tea!
Come for all or part of the day!
