The Triratna Buddhist Order is 2,000 strong!

The following men were publicly ordained at Bhaja, India, on 24th January 2016, bringing the total number of living Order members worldwide to 2,000. Around 1,000 people attended the ceremony.

The public preceptors were Amoghasiddhi, Amritdip, Yashosagar, Subhuti and Sona but we do not have the details of which men were ordained by Amoghasiddhi, Amritdip and Yashosagar.

There were also 5 westerners ordained there. What about their details?

hi there,  this is great news but it is partial information as there were, as Veronica says, westerners also ordained.  The OIS sent out two lots of info - this is the second list. There was a list of the westerners and a couple of the Indians sent out some days before this list. The 2000th Order member was, in fact, Chandramalin from Sydney, Australia

great, ta Munisha. Sorry to be a pain but it doesnt say who was public preceptor to the Indians other than the one that Subhuti publicly ordained.  I think it was Yashosagar.

Yes, unfortunately that information was not included - the information has come through rather higgledy-piggeldy! Sigh…
