Triratna Arts & Culture Catalogue 2025
A call for your submissions!

The Triratna Arts and Culture Catalogue is an initiative to document every four years, for 40 years, a selection of Art and Culture that represents the unfolding exploration of how to convey the Dharma into a globalised culture and so form the aesthetic foundations for a society based on caring for all that lives. It will collate work for no cost to artists, and distribute work to Triratna Buddhist Centres and beyond at no cost to those institutions.

Sangharuchi, an Order member based in Birmingham, UK, is now looking for applicants to send their artwork for the next edition of Triratna Arts & Culture - 2025.

This book is sent to every centre in the movement every 4 years as an open copy and contains work of many in the movement. It is also available to buy from Lulu.com

The aim over a 40 year period is to provide an historic record of the unfolding artistic narrative of our new Buddhist movement and the individuals within it. Anyone who considers themselves part of the Triratna Buddhist Community can submit work, the only content not accepted is poetry and prose. Painting, photography, crochet, crafts, ceramics, design, food, glasswork, sculpture and anything else whacky or classic is welcome as well as cultural or craft based contributions. Art forms like dance or music are tricky to convey so these pages feature longer descriptions with a web link to videos. The work doesn’t have to be explicitly Buddhist and you don’t have to be professional or trained.

Think of all the creative people you know and consider sending them these details. Acknowledging the broader value of their creativity can be the first step in them seeing how just important their work is to all of us.

Applications are definitely open until September 2024. Beyond that, applications will close at the point Sangharuchi has enough applications, funds and spare time to make it happen. This may be immediately after September or run on longer.
