Next weekend, October 27th, sees the premiere of a new composition ‘Touching the Earth’, a 30-minute choral tribute to the Buddha performed by Sangha singers in Cambridge UK. Inspired by the Buddha’s Enlightenment story, it’s been composed by Order Member Bodhivajra who’s gathered Buddhist choirs from Triratna’s Norwich, London and Cambridge Buddhist Centres for the occasion.

Alongside this there’ll also be the sing-off of Triratna’s 2nd Sangha Composers Competition: five composers have composed settings of a text by Tsongkhapa ( “The human body at peace with itself…”); in an event hosted by Arthasiddhi these will all be performed and the audience get to vote for their favourite piece!

It’s happening in the theatre at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre - for more details, check their website.
