Samachitta, chair of Triratna’s Birmingham Buddhist Centre, writes with news of their 25th Anniversary celebrations and a Grand Re-Opening - both coming up soon! The Centre has seen extensive building work over the past year and has been substantially altered inside, restoring the old front door as the new main entrance, among many other improvements. She says -

“This year, we are marking the 25th anniversary of the Birmingham Buddhist Centre. New and old friends will come together to look back over 25 years of Triratna Buddhist activities in Birmingham and mark the completion of the latest phase of the Centre’s development with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by our current President, Dharmachari Paramartha.

We will be welcoming friends and supporters of the Birmingham Sangha, both past and present, as well as numerous Order Members, Mitras and friends who have contributed to the development of the Centre over the years. Dharmachari Satyapala, one of the original band of adventurers who founded the Birmingham Buddhist Centre, will give a lively account of the Centre’s early history. Then I will outline recent developments and introduce some exciting new ideas for the Centre’s future work.

We look forward to welcoming you on 30th September.

With metta, Samachitta”
