Rivendell Buddhist Retreat Centre is looking for two new team members to support the running of this well-loved retreat centre and to help to develop a new off-site community.

These two positions are supported full time roles with assorted duties and responsibilities, some of which as listed below. We would be looking to have one person engaging with the needs of the house and the other more with the office – and there are areas where all are involved. How these jobs are assigned will depend on the level of skill, experience and interest that is shown by those applying for these positions:

· Joining Rivendell’s Core Management Team.

· Property Management – caretaking/maintenance and project management.

· Helping with housekeeping.

· Setting up for retreats/cooking on retreats.

· Office Administration – bookings, reception and correspondence.

· Food Management – menus, stock control and hygiene compliance.

· Health & Safety – adherence to and development of procedures.

To apply for these positions you will need to be an Order member or a Mitra who has asked for ordination, and ideally hold a current full UK driving licence. The successful candidates will need to be self-motivated, have an ability to take responsibility, show initiative and also to be able to work cooperatively and harmoniously with others. Ideally, you will have previous experience of Team Based Right Livelihood and community living. There will always be challenges in working and living together, but it is how we deal with them that is essential – this type of practice can be very rewarding.

These positions are open to all genders, but please be aware that you would be sharing with the existing community members, Tejasiddhi (he/him) and Mokshaghosha (he/him).

If you’d like to talk more about this exciting opportunity, or if you just want an application form please contact Tejasiddhi: tejasiddhi [at]

The closing date for all applications is 11th February 2022. The successful applicants will ideally be able to start on 4th April 2022.
