Place available at Uddiyana Community in Leytonstone (E11) from November

We’re a well established men’s community in Leytonstone (London E11) that’s been going strong for over 10 years. It’s a friendly, easy-going household. We do our best to look after each other and support each other to grow. We’re serious about Buddhist practice, but the atmosphere is informal and there’s always plenty of laughter.

Currently we’re two Order Members and three mitras training for ordination, but with a vacancy coming up in early November. We are open to anyone from the Triratna sangha who has a regular meditation practice, regardless of age or level of experience - the most important thing is that you feel you’d enjoy participating in a practising community like ours. We meditate and have breakfast together every morning and spend an evening together once a week. A couple of times a year we do a weekend retreat, and we also meet for occasional work days to take care of our living space.

The house is seven minutes’ walk from Leytonstone tube on the Central Line, and a similar distance from Leyton Midland Road Overground - it’s about 25 minutes to the LBC. Part of Epping forest is about 10 minutes’ walk away. The room costs £441 per month including all bills, and we all contribute £25 a week to the communal food kitty.
