About Virya Group

We are an innovative forward-thinking technology business which specialises in Open Source technologies.  Our business is founded as a Buddhist Right Livelihood and operates to an ethos statement which explains how we work in basic terms.  You don’t have to be Buddhist to work for us, but every employee needs to be at least sympathetic to all five of our core principles as a prerequisite for employment in the company.

We are a full-service digital agency.  We provide software development, marketing, search engine optimisation hosting and training to organisations worldwide. We’re based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

We’re good at the techie stuff, but not so good with organisation and administration!  Are you the person to bring structure to our office?

About you

We are looking for a skilled and experienced administrator with excellent communication skills.  This dynamic role requires you to be confident, organised and motivated.  You will provide proactive and efficient administrative support to the office.  With your magic touch, everything will run smoothly!

A pleasant, welcoming and professional telephone manner is vital.  You will be a first point of contact, representing the company in a professional, friendly manner.

You should have an excellent knowledge of office systems, spreadsheets, email and word processing.   There will be some basic book keeping required with training available if required.

You must have high standards of accuracy and be willing to document your processes.

Diary management and travel planning for the directors will form part of this role. Working alongside our company directors you will provide day-to-day administrative support.

You will assist with inbox management, responding to emails on behalf of the management team where required.  Experience setting up systems to streamline the email management process would be helpful. Experience as Personal Assistant or similar could be helpful for this role.

You will be willing to learn and implement new skills and processes.  A training package and professional development plan will support you to grow and learn.

If you think you fit the bill, please apply now!

What we do

We are a full-service digital agency.  We offer software development design, marketing, search engine optimisation and training. You will communicate with a range of people, from our team to our customers and suppliers.  You will use a range of technologies including hangouts, phone calls and video conferences.

We don’t expect you to know all the details of our industry, but we expect you to show initiative.  If you don’t know something, we expect you to be willing to learn from those around you.

We expect you to share your skills, putting in place systems to help us all become more efficient.

The role

We expect the role being part-time from 9am-12 noon Monday to Friday.  Once the initial induction and training is complete, you can work from home some of the days to suit.  Going forward there may be the potential for a full-time role or job-share.

You will work from our offices on Adastral Park, Martlesham Heath, Ipswich.

Sometimes there may be a need to travel for meetings or appointments.

Other opportunities

Part of the way we offer dana (a Buddhist principle of giving to others) is to volunteer our time and knowledge to help other organisations.  If you have an interest we can help you to get involved with voluntary projects.

As part of your personal development plan, we expect you to set  achievable goals.

Your reviews will allow you to show how you are meeting your goals.  As you progress we’ll be supporting you in aiming higher.  We will support you with training in-house and through external suppliers to be the best at what you do.
