There is an opportunity to join the successful Buddhist team-based right livelihood business of Lama’s Pyjamas, the charity shop for the London Buddhist Centre, for the period May – August 2022, when one of our team members will be away on her ordination retreat.

If you like the idea of:

  • Being part of a close-knit team supporting each other to practise the Dharma in the workplace
  • Helping to run a well-known high street charity shop in East London
  • Contributing more than £50,000 to the London Buddhist Centre annually

… then just read on.

We are looking for a Triratna Buddhist (a Mitra or TFO Mitra) who is:

  • Available to work full-time in the period May – August 2022.
  • Physically robust and able to lift and carry heavy bags/donations and items for sale
  • Practical in outlook, flexible and willing to turn a hand to the wide variety of tasks involved in the day-to-day running of a charity shop
  • Able to work comfortably in a small team and rub along in the midst of busy shop life
  • Enjoys customer service and practising kindness, generosity and patience
  • Numerate, including being able to cash up, work the till and do pricing (training will be given)
  • Able to attend an interview and have a few trial days in East London

We may be able to help with accommodation if needed (though not guaranteed), if you are thinking of relocating for this opportunity.
