A new person is sought for the Shops Team, to work at both Jambala Bookshop and Lama’s Pyjamas Charity Shop, the charity shops for the London Buddhist Centre. The successful candidate will need to have a commitment to practising within Triratna and want to be part of a team exploring work as a spiritual practice.

The team-based right livelihood culture of the London Buddhist Centre provides excellent conditions in which to practise the Dharma, deepen your relationship with the significance of ordination (though you don’t need to have asked for ordination) and have an intensive experience of working in and contributing to the LBC community. Being part of a team at the LBC is an opportunity to work in a collaborative and value-driven context. 

They're looking for someone who is...

• Dharmically inspired - motivated to contribute to the vision of the LBC. This will include living on ‘support’, their basic remuneration package
• Personable - keen to develop friendships and add to the friendly culture in the shops and around the LBC.
• Collaborative - with a strong desire to work cooperatively and thrive in an intensive team environment with clear and harmonious communication
• Organised and tidy - able to maintain a well-presented shop, keep an overview of stock, prioritise effectively and work fast
• In good physical health - they spend plenty of time on their feet and often need to move large donations.
• Reliable and responsible - able to run the shops in the absence of other team members and manage volunteers
