Do you enjoy web development? Designing for print and web? Bringing order to chaos?

Virya Group have freelance opportunities for developers and designers - ideally with some exposure to the Joomla CMS and Framework for developers, and a good understanding of responsive web design and multi-channel design for designers. We may also have project-based opportunities coming up in the future for QA engineers and project managers with technical experience.

Virya Group work with local and international businesses to deliver high quality websites and applications which meet the needs of their organisation. Our web development focuses on the Joomla! Content Management System and the Joomla! Framework. We also offer dana projects to charities and not-for-profit organisations from all over the world. We are a full-service agency, providing services under five main pillars of the business:

  • Consultancy
  • Content Management Systems
  • Training
  • Hosting
  • SEO & Marketing

We are passionate supporters of Open Source projects, and we actively encourage our team to give back to the world by contributing our time, knowledge and skills back to a range of projects as volunteers and regularly running community events such as ‘bugs and fun’ sessions. We will also support involvement with the Triaratna Coding Kula if you are interested in supporting the movement in this way.

We can support part time or full time work with hours to suit, based at our offices in Ipswich or work from home with 1 week per month based in the office.

Virya Group
are a new Anglo-Dutch Joint Venture business led by CEO Ruth Cheesley (a GFR Mitra from Ipswich), which has evolved from the company Virya Technologies and which launched publicly on 1st June 2014. An innovative, forward-thinking technology business which specialises in Open Source technologies, they are established as a Right Livelihood business, and operate to an ethos statement which aligns with the precepts of Buddhism.

If you would like to chat about what opportunities and projects we have running at the moment, where your skill set might fit in, or find out more about our business, please email ruth.cheesley [at] or call and ask for Ruth Cheesley (CEO) or Marco Dings (CTO) on 01473 852134.
