The LBC are looking for a new person to join the team of people who run the centre’s activities.
The team-based right livelihood culture of the centre provides excellent conditions in which to practise the Dharma, deepen your relationship with the Order (though you don’t need to have asked for Ordination yourself) and have an intensive experience of contributing to the LBC community. It’s a value-driven, collaborative context that can have a transforming effect on a person’s life and practice, and is suitable for someone committed to practising within Triratna and to exploring work as a spiritual practice.
We are looking for a Bookkeeper. The successful applicant will play an important role in maintaining and developing the LBC's financial systems, which are essential to the LBC's activities. This will primarily involve assisting the Finance Manager in the general management of the centre's finances, and processing and recording financial transactions to support the LBC's activities. They will work in close collaboration with other members of the finance team.
Essential Skills
- confidence with numerical information, training in the specifics of bookkeeping will be provided
- aptitude in tasks requiring concentration and accuracy, attention to detail and conscientiousness
- collaborative, with a strong desire to work cooperatively and thrive in an intensive team environment, under the guidance of managers and mentors
- personable, keen to develop friendships and able to empathise with people when discussing financial matters
