A special talk to mark the anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar’s conversion to Buddhism on October 14th, 1956, along with hundreds of thousands of so-called ‘Untouchable’ people looking to free themselves from the terrors of the Hindu caste system.

How do we respond to the atrocities associated with caste today? And the everyday prejudices visited systemically on people of colour around the world?

Maitriveer-Nagarjuna’s brilliant, passionate presentation looks at Dr. Ambedkar’s own response to such big, painful questions; connecting his work to the deeply radical nature of the Buddha’s approach to self-liberation and the transformation of society itself.

What emerges is an inspiring, practical vision of how to reclaim all the energy tied up in the mental, social and cultural conditioning that lies behind racism; a vision leading to new possibilities for personal freedom in a post-pandemic world that is deeply and beautifully “pro-people”.
