To mark our latest Home Retreat, led by Tejananda, an excellent conversation and primer on meditation from a body-focussed perspective.

Tejananda’s key image is of the dynamic mandala. Dharma practice is itself dynamic and transformative. And the transformation lies in gradually discovering how both we and the world are not at all what we originally supposed! Seeing this, we can begin to uproot the causes of suffering in our own experience.

This approach to practice is centred on the living energy of our body and being. Through being open to the energy of the body, and by becoming attuned to its actual nature, we’ll discover ways to integrate the stages of a spiritual path into a single, embodied experience of ‘simply being’.

Tejananda will support this Home Retreat with a series of daily meditations and inquiries, exploring in some depth the nature of our human experience.

Hi I’m not quite sure if I have to reserve a place? On the eventbrite page that comes up it says “select a date”. Does that mean there are alternative dates? It is not a complete event of several days long?

Or is it just possible to turn up on the day? (internet willing).

Hi Vajranatha!

We are experimenting with using Eventbrite at the moment. If you book a place for one day you can use the link for the other sessions too. Alternatively you can just turn up on the day (internet permitting!) and join via the Toolkit space (thebuddhistcentre.com/mandala). If you don’t make it we will be recording the sessions and will make the available as soon as we can.

OK thanks. I think I’ll just follow the link on the day then so I don’t have to go through yet another platform. Will the recorded versions of the meditations be the same as the live versions? Is there an interactive aspect to the workshops? Breakout groups and things like that? I’m wondering if we could try to do a group for the local sangha in Venezuela.

Hi again Vajranatha,

We will record the sessions and make them available as soon as possible afterwards - I think they will just be loosely edited (i.e. trimmed a bit) so if you can’t make it you can watch it afterwards. As I mentioned we will try and make them available as soon as we can.

My understanding of how the workshops will work is that Tejananda will introduce the theme of the day, then lead some meditation practice based on that, after which there will be a discussion - with participants feeding in questions. I don’t think there will be breakout group however - I don’t think there’s time for that!

And wonderful if you are coming with people from your sangha!
