Karuna are looking for volunteers to join them for their telephone appeal, based in the Karuna office in North London as part of this year's Buddhist Action Month.
Karuna works to end caste-based discrimination, poverty and inequality in India and Nepal. By providing tools, skills and support to grassroots organisations, Karuna can create community champions and build local networks. These networks then spread, benefiting even more people and sustaining the cycle of transformation. You can watch the short video to see more about Karuna's work.
Karuna Appeals gives participants an opportunity to connect with others and themselves, all while giving something back to the world. The campaigns are perfect conditions to practice engaged Buddhism, a chance to take your practice deeper, give of yourself and make a life-changing difference to others.
The next telephone appeal takes place on 28th May until 6th July. The hours are Monday to Friday 3pm to 9pm and it is non-residential. There will be fundraising training, financial support, dharma practice, meditation, workshops, communication and the opportunity to practice right livelihood.
Karuna offers financial support to make it possible - including a 7 day Triratna retreat to say thank you.
