As many of you know we put the GBC up for sale in September. We are currently in the process of negotiating a sale, which will possibly close in mid December.

So with that in mind, we have come up with a ritual saying goodbye process that takes into account all the COVID regulations. This will allow a small group of mitras and order members (10 at a time) to come to the centre, and participate in an hour-long...

Wed, 21 Jan, 2015 - 09:46Saturday 24 January 2-5pm. Open to all mitras and order members. Starts at 2pm with vegan cake and coffee. Ends 5pm. If you’d like to be on the set up team, please come for 1pm. Bringing home-made vegan cake is a good idea. Or some gluten free goodies like nice crisps and nuts if you’re a shopper. 10.30 - 5pm

Taking the Mandala of the Five Buddhas as the focus, with meditation, reflections on the qualities of the Buddhas and a puja with origama flower offerings. Bring vegetarian food to share, lunch at 1pm.

Sunday 11th May Buddha Day Festival, all welcome

Tue, 27 Aug, 2013 - 15:14We had a great puja last night. 23 of us gathered on the evening of Bhante’s 88th birthday, for a Sevenfold Puja. Thanks to Sheila Puri for the shrine, Suriyavamsa for the readings and everyone for coming and taking part.

Mon, 22 Jul, 2013 - 10:31As part of the the Urban Retreat this week, we’re having meditation at 7.30am, followed by optional breakfast. These sessions are Monday to Friday and they’re open to the whole sangha.

Tue, 2 Jul, 2013 - 10:29This year’s Urban Retreat is based around Maitreyabandhu’s book “Life with Full Attention”. The material is centred on the Buddha’s Honeyball Sutta and will help act as a springboard to taking us deeper into our practice - noticing opportunities for change and growth.

On Sunday the 26th of May we’ll be holding our annual Buddha festival - the Buddhist event of the year when we celebrate Siddhartha Gautama’s enlightenment.

We’ll be having offering making sessions for the festival at 2 - 4pm on this Sunday and the next, (the 12th and the 19th of May).

Celebrate the occasion of the Buddha’s Enlightenment in the company of friends in the Sangha.

4pm meditation, readings and special puja offering; “with mandarava, blue lotus and jasmine…”
come along and help us open the festival with a devotional focus on the Buddha.

As part of our proceedings we had a Dharma Quiz, devised by Suriyavamsa.
