Your gifts are passing on the Dharma in Venezuela

Wed, 28 Mar, 2018 - 15:24

If there’s no way people can travel to a retreat, then why not fly the retreat to them!

Aryavacin (Nottingham, UK), Manjusiha (Padmaloka, UK), and Padmashalin (Valencia, Spain), have done just that.

The location? Merida, Venezuela.

The three friends landed last week and immediately began leading a valuable retreat programme.

The situation is tough in Merida. Vajranatha is the only Order member in the sangha, in fact in the whole of Venezuela. He’s been working heroically to keep Merida’s thriving sangha going.

Recent economic turmoil in Venezuela has...

A Library for Cuernavaca Centre, Mexico

Tue, 23 Jan, 2018 - 13:42

Deepening Dharma practice, building sangha, outreach to other people - all of these are happening in Mexico at the Cuernavaca Buddhist Centre thanks to gifts to FutureDharma Fund.

The Cuernavaca sangha have worked together to create a library full of Dharma books and electronic resources.

They tell us that the political situation in Mexico has led to much social inequality. Many young people have never had the opportunity to use a library. The sangha have created the library as a place of inspiration...

This is great to see, thank you for sharing Liz - an inspiring project and moving to hear from the folk using the library about how important the library is given the unrest in wider culture in Mexico.

It is really inspiring. Lovely to see a library as a space of calm and energy.

New Mitras in Clacton-on-Sea, UK

Mon, 11 Dec, 2017 - 16:27

Sometimes just a simple thing like help with the rent can make all the difference and help people transform their lives.

On 5th December 2017 in Clacton-on-Sea, UK Grace Welfar and Pauline Anderson became Mitras, deepening their commitment to practice within the Triratna sangha.

Grace and Pauline wouldn’t have been there without your gifts to FutureDharma. They both go to the Clacton-on-Sea study group, which brings 8 people together each week to study the Dharma and build sangha together. Your gifts help pay for...

“In a continent as vast as Australia, our Triratna centres are often hundreds if not thousands of kilometres apart…”

KM4 Australia is a fantastic new project that will support Order members in outlying centres and GFR training across Australia. But it can only happen with your gifts.

Here Maitripala explores what it means to engage in Kalyana Mitrata across an entire continent.

FutureDharma at the International Gathering

Mon, 18 Sep, 2017 - 13:59

A huge thank you to everyone who gave to FutureDharma at the International Gathering 2017 at Adhisthana. It was an amazing weekend of friendship, worship and sunshine, of puja, bonfires and singing, and of course, our vegan FutureDharma doughnuts!

Our lovely team were to be found in the barn, telling people all about FutureDharma projects, and helping them make their pledges to support them. During the Sunday evening puja, Amalavajra led a short meditation and gave us the opportunity to offer our pledges...

"... money was a kind of placeholder for life and love ..."

Wed, 16 Aug, 2017 - 15:43

Money often substitutes for other things we want. But how to tell the difference? Amalavajra, a banker-turned-Buddhist fundraiser, explores how his relationship with money has changed.
