In the last five years FutureDharma has grown to support 45 international Triratna projects, including those of the India Dhamma Trust. Our trustees represent Triratna’s Three Strands and take our strategic lead from the International Council. Our projects include some of the most exciting and necessary work currently taking place in Triratna. We are very proud to provide funding to the Buddhist Centre Online, Sikkha Project, International Council, and Windhorse Publications, as well as to the Indian Ordination teams, and centres in Mexico and Venezuela, Poland, India and the UK, amongst others. In the last six months these projects have responded to the COVID-19 lockdowns by taking Triratna online, cementing connections across our worldwide sangha, and coordinating relief work in India.
In 2020 we aim to raise £400,000 to continue and develop this vital work. We are now seeking an inspired and engaged Order Member to join our motivated and harmonious team as Finance and Systems Director.
Finance & Systems Director
FutureDharma Fund has a Board of three Directors who shape and implement the strategic direction of FutureDharma whilst heading up the three sub teams of Fundraising, Programmes, and Finance & Systems.
You will work with the other Directors and our Trustees and lead on the design and implementation of a funding strategy for the International Council’s Dharma project priorities. You will also hold responsibility for shaping all of our IT and other systems.
You will bring experience in accountancy work to responsibilities such as managing the annual budget process, including regular reforecasting, leading on all Treasury management, including payroll, and completing financial returns such as Gift Aid Claims to HMRC, whilst managing our bookkeeper. You will hold a broad understanding of how FutureDharma’s systems interact and respond to the needs of our fundraising campaigns whilst managing our Systems and Database Manger.
In addition to this, you will help provide a context for further spiritual development through the practice of team-based right livelihood.
FutureDharma Fund Team
The FutureDharma Team now has eight members, working in full or part-time roles. We all work remotely and aim to meet in person for regular Team study and strategic planning days. At present these take place online due to restrictions around COVID-19.
We are a harmonious team with a strong motivation to raise vital funds for Triratna projects worldwide, whilst engaging with the practice of, and contributing to, the culture of our right livelihood team.
Please note that due to the nature of the role this post is open to members of the Triratna Buddhist Order only. We are seeking an Order member who can make a long-term commitment to the role and our team and who is invested in the value of team-based right livelihood work. We are also seeking someone with considerable experience in accountancy.
