Day Two #PilgrimageUnlimited Video Diary: Shepperton to Windsor

She writes:

Day Two: Shepperton to Windsor (although I’m actually staying across the bridge in Eton) - still following the Thames. ‘Only’ 14.5 miles, but it felt as strenuous as yesterday’s 17; so I’m nervous about tomorrow’s 18. I’ll start early, but there’s no avoiding the heat. I’ve got a great rain/sun hat, and am carrying lots of water. Really appreciate the video messages from friends!

I’ve walked past some stunning riverside properties, both ancient and modern, with a range of craft moored in front. The path itself cross-crosses bridges, keeping to the most open countryside. Fortunately there’s been intermittent shade.

The start and end points mark the start and end places of Bhante Sangharakshita’s life, with the pilgrimage route simply joining the two. It’s a person and symbolic walk; it’s my way of expressing my relationship to him, and it needed to be challenging to do justice to that.
