A Meditator's Life of the BuddhaPosted by Centre Team on Tue, 19 December, 2017 - 16:07
We have good news to share. We are pleased to announce that A Meditator’s Life of the Buddha by Bhikkhu Anālayo has just been released. Sponsors should have received their eBook copies already, and paperback copies are on their way. (Thank you, sponsors.)
A Meditator’s Life of the Buddha is by Anālayo, a scholar of early Buddhism, and a Buddhist monk. The book follows the Buddha’s journey through life, particularly as a meditator . Each chapter concludes with suggestions to support meditation practices.
In his foreword, Jack Kornfield puts it beautifully:
“Developing a mind and heart suffused with wisdom and mettā allows us to live with freedom wherever we are. Bhikkhu Anālayo shows us how the Buddha embodied this spirit, ever responsive to those around him. There is an immediacy, decorum, grace, open-handedness, and profound compassion in his tending of all he touched. We are invited to bring these same qualities alive in our own Dharma life.”
Through our sponsor-a-book campaign, we’re more than half-way to our target to cover publication costs for this book. Thank you to our sponsors so far! If we don’t reach our target, we will draw on funds that would otherwise be used for reprints of existing books, etc. If you’d like to help support this particular book, there is still an opportunity to sponsor it.
We hope our readers find this book a meaningful contribution to their Dharma lives.
