Starting on Wednesday 13th September 7 - 9.15pm in our usual space, the Phoenix room at the Exeter Natural Health Centre.
This six week course will cover the essentials of what’s needed to build up an effective meditation practice and will learn about Buddhist teachings, as taught within the Triratna Buddhist Community. You are most welcome if you are new to meditation or if you’d like to have the opportunity to go back to basics and refresh your practice.
At the end of the course you will have explored the best posture for you to sit in for meditation practice, have got some understanding what meditation is and isn’t about; you will be familiar with a range of practices including the mindfulness of breathing and meditation on loving-kindness (metta bhavana), walking meditation, body awareness practice and ‘Just Sitting’. You will be familiar with some of the key qualities and concepts involved in setting up a meditation practice, and you will also have heard about the Buddha and some of the key teachings, as well as have had an introduction to Triratna. Last but not least you will also have had a sense of the benefits of collective practice and being part of a practice community!
