WEEKLY SANGHA NIGHTOn Thu, 5 December, 2013 - 22:16
Sangha night for regulars
This is the class that draws everybody together from all the other classes: please try to come if you can!
Sangha night is 1900 to 2115 every Wednesday at Sholden Village Hall, Sholden New Road, Sholden, Kent CT14 0AF. The evening includes meditation, a talk or discussion on the Dharma, Puja and a cup of tea. Suggested donation £10
Wednesday, 7th, we will be looking at “The Path to Insight” using sati or mindfulness and metta or loving kindness through meditation, activities and experience.
Wednesday 14th, it’s our monthly Dharma Café at 5.30 pm before sangha evening. All are welcome. Please bring something vegetarian/vegan to share. Baked potatoes will be provided. Then we have Christine El-fourti, a mitra from Blackburn, who is coming to Deal to give a presentation of a project based in Nagpur, India, called Young Indian Futures (YIF) . She went there to help last year and will be going out there again this autumn. She has kindly offered to share her experiences with us. YIF is a Triratna Right Livelihood project that trains young women and men from the Dalit community in a variety of skills such as computing, basic accounting, and English, and gives opportunities for learning about the Dharma. Normally such young people would only have lives of drudgery or hard labour to look forward to, whereas this project has been very successful in getting them into worthwhile employment with good future prospects. Do come along & hear about this very meaningful enterprise. Our Dana collection on the 14th will go towards supporting this life-changing project - please give generously!
Wednesday 21st it’s an evening on the Bodhicitta, the Will to Enlightenment
and on the 28th we’ll have a lovely practice evening, with meditation and puja.
