Starting from where we are

To make real change in our life we need to start from where we are.

Meditation is one of the very best ways to stop, see what is really going on and start to establish new habits and behaviours that will serve us well.

Here’s a great quote from ‘Living Dreaming Dying’ that Steve lent me recently. It’s a synthesis of western psychology and Tibetan Buddhist doctrine and I am really digging it!

“One of the main lessons is to train ourselves to stay conscious, to face what is happening. When we’re training in mindfulness we have our meditation support, upon which we focus our mind. The mind wants to drift away into distraction ……

The mind that has trained itself to be free from drifting away has already achieved an enormous capacity to face its reality. When we remain present in the moment, we have no option but to see more deeply into our own mind, because our own mind naturally reveals itself if we remain present with it.”

As we gradually grow our capacity to stay mindful we become calm, creative and happy …..

I hope you can meditate with us this week
