‘Mind is the great determining factor in Buddhism. The state of our mind from moment to moment – its happiness or unhappiness, wisdom or ignorance, compassion or cruelty – is the key influence on our development. According to one of the earliest recorded sayings of the Buddha, our whole life is the creation of our mind – If we act with a pure mind, joy follows; if we act with an impure mind, suffering follows.’

I hope you are rolling into 2014 well and Padmadakini and I warmly invite you to join us on Thursday night for the Mindfulness of Breathing practice

7 – 8.30 pm

I would also love you to record the following dates into your diaries if you are interested in coming along on our Coogee Meditation Group Retreats this year. They will both be held at our order’s retreat centre (Vijayaloka) which is a very easy 45 minute drive from Coogee. We will communicate more about the themes a little down the track but I encourage you to prioritise these retreats if you want to deepen both your friendships and practices.

  • Friday June 20 – Sunday June 22

  • Friday November 1 – Sunday November 3

Much metta

Dharmalata and Padmadakini
