I have found the writings of American Zen practitioner Charlotte Joko Beck inspiring. One of her books is titled ‘Nothing Special’
So often we are caught up consciously and unconsciously hoping that life will be special, exciting and extraordinary and caught up in this quest and hope we fail to experience and recognise that our lives are imbued with the extraordinary in every moment and interaction.
Meditation (or zazen as she would call it) allows us to slow down enough to taste our life, to see colours, really taste things and find joy and spaciousness in every situation we enter.
This week we will be doing the Metta Bhavana practice; the cultivation of loving kindness toward self and other
7 – 8.30 at the Coogee Croquet Club
Sunday morning meditation 8 – 8.50 also at the Croquet Club
With kindness
