I was thinking about the Metta Bhavana practice this week and reflected that this particular practice is really as simple as meeting oneself wherever one finds oneself with a really kind and friendly attitude and then taking this out toward others. It’s a matter of tuning into where we are currently at and then choosing a response that is open, expansive and loving…….
This week we will be doing the Mindfulness of Breathing practice – the complementary practice to the metta practice. This practice allows the mind to settle, to gradually calm down from its habitual movement and come to a place of peace and poise.
When both practices are done, over time the mind gradually becomes more free, more creative and more able to work effectively with the comings and goings of life …….
I hope you will be able to come and join us on Thursday night at 7 pm
