We all want to be free and happy
But this can be such a challenge when circumstances seem to dictate so much of our experience. How do we find and sustain contentment when challenges and problems arise? These challenges can be big and small and depending on how many hit us at once can overwhelm us …….
Well ………. A very practical understanding that I’ve been led to via training and experience around meditation is that we can cultivate a creative space in our own mind. Meditation facilitates a breathing space between what happens and our reactions to it.
And as our meditation practice gains momentum this creative space gets stronger, larger and finally becomes our habit. We have an inbuilt mechanism to navigate change and challenge with poise and equanimity. It also means we can meet positive experiences with this same poise and sense of choice.
We sometimes call this creative space ‘The Gap’ - an invaluable space in which we enjoy freedom ………….
