DEAR COOGEE SANGHA

Meditation will be offered as usual this week:
Thursday     7 - 8.30 pm
Sunday        8 - 9 am

Please also see a treat weekend coming up out at our retreat centre - all are very warmly invited and being led and taught by Vajradaka will be a real treat. Vajradaka has been a resident meditation teacher and practitioner at Vajraloka; one of our very long running retreat centres in the UK.
I will be co-leading the Introduction to Meditation Retreat that will run parallel to it across the same weekend so I would love to have your company!

THREADS OF THE DHARMA: A SANGHA RETREAT

Friday, 8 December 2017 - 7:00pm - Sunday, 10 December 2017 - 3:00pm

This Sangha Retreat will be led by Vajradaka, visiting us from the UK.

Our life is made up of many processes which we are involved with at any one time, there are a complex of threads in our life. In the broadest sense of mindfulness we are aware of those threads and how they interact with each other. We keep track of where we are in those processes. In the bigger picture of mindfulness we potentially have our fingers on all the threads of our life and know what they are. An aspect of this general mindfulness is keeping track of where you are in all these different processes and keeping the momentum going with each of these processes or threads.

As well as being conscious and mindful of each of these threads and processes in our lives we also attempt to be aware of our core and underlying attitudes and views about whether we think it is possible to grow and develop in those processes. Deep down do we really think it is? Meditation helps us become aware of our underlying core views and attitudes and to question them if necessary.

On this retreat we will explore how we can bring a dharmic perspective into all the different threads and processes in our life including how we relate to and affect the world.
