It was good to be on retreat with some of you this weekend just past. Our theme was ‘The Brahma Viharas’ also know as the sublime abodes and they are all aspects of what Buddhists know as metta or kindness.

When unconditional kindness meets suffering it expresses as compassion, when that same kindness meets good fortune it expresses as sympathetic joy and meeting all situations it has a non discriminating friendliness and well wishing.

To learn to live from kindness means we will increasingly live in ideal mental states; we will in fact inhabit the realms of the gods!

So come along and do the metta practice with us this Thursday evening!

Thursday         7 – 8.30 pm     Metta Bhavana practice

Sunday         8 – 8.50 am    Mindfulness of Breathing practice

With kindness

Dharmalata and Padmadakini

PS: It’s great to see that people are borrowing books from our library (in the corner of the Croquet Clubrooms) but please do make sure that you enter your details in the book on the bottom shelf so that we can keep track of them. If you’ve borrowed a book and overlooked to enter your details please add them next time you’re with us.
