I’ve had a few challenges this week. Things have arisen that have made my mind somewhat stirred up. Sometimes it’s hard to know the best course of action. And with my habit of loving to be busy, loving a challenge I have felt pushed and stretched.
But meditation is a lifeline. To enter our large meditation room at the community, light the candle and incense and sit still and quietly with myself and the goings on of my mind ………….. equilibrium is restored
Sometimes the best we can do is to just sit with the contradictions, the tensions and the thoughts and watch. To act prematurely may be useless and at worst create more harm ……..
And so ‘bathing my stories in compassion’ I cultivate the quietness and the steadiness where wisdom and compassion have the best chance of gestation.
It is my best effort to stay steady and sift out responses to myself and to others that are helpful
