It was one of those really hot, humid days we’ve been having lately. I was sitting somewhere experiencing the oppression of it when a gentle, cool breeze blew in.
It was beautiful: an elixir. A cool breeze can revivify, uplift one’s spirits and give us the encouragement to carry on.
Or, it can just bring sweet and very welcome relief …….
And it reminded me of the parable of the rain cloud which The Buddha used to describe the way his teachings and practices meet our individual needs in just the way we need them met.
Meditation does this. It can be the cool breeze that lifts our spirits, gives us the encouragement to carry on and provides sweet and welcome relief and inspiration.
