On the visit to India from Sheffield, UK; 20 brothers and sisters visited to our Triratna Center at Mahendrangar, Nagpur. Amoghavamsa shared Dhamma with the audience. It was wonderful energy here.

I’ve just signed a petition calling on UK supermarkets to go plastic-free, and it would mean a lot to me if you’d add your name too! 

From turtles entangled in six pack rings to whales with stomachs full of plastic bags, the effects of plastic pollution can be devastating. 

UK supermarket Iceland has announced its own-brand packaging is going plastic-free. 

By ditching plastic packaging, supermarkets have the power to...

On the Australia Day Long Weekend The Sydney Buddhist Centre is holding a retreat to which you are all invited. It’s a lovely opportunity to relax, invest come care into our retreat centre and also have a retreat experience of meditation and some reflection on The Buddha’s teachings. Pour passer de 2017 à 2018, il y a eu au Centre bouddhiste trois jours de « retraite », ou plutôt de pratique intensive, sur le thème inspirant de « calme, simplicité et contentement ».

At the start of our year at Bristol Buddhist Centre on the system of practice, Karunavapi talks of Mandalas as patterns of the unenlightened and enlightened mind. 'Personal mandalas' as the patterning of our own, unenlightened minds and the Five Buddha Mandala as the pattern of the Buddha's enlightened mind. To appreciate the qualities of the Buddha, we can see them like light through a prism splitting into the colours of the five Buddhas of the Mandala.

Notable ordination statistics for 2017

The twin ordination ceremonies held in India on 17th December 2017 saw the entry of 68 people to the Order (21 women and 47 men); the largest number of people to enter the Order on one day in the Order’s 50 years.

There were 146 ordinations worldwide in 2017 (73 women and 73 men). This is the largest number of people to have entered the Order in one year.

2017 also saw 16 resignations (8 women and 8 men)....
