Help Replace the Buddhafield Café Tent

Help Replace the Buddhafield Café Tent

Wed, 22 Jan, 2014 - 11:38Join us at a Buddhafield Café Fundraiser in Bristol on Saturday January 25.

The tent has been to many festivals and seen many things. It’s housed and sheltered many people, been a safe and secure space holding the wide breadth of experience that working for Buddhafield encompasses. It’s got a bit battered in over 10 years of adventures; over the last couple of years holes have started appearing, and more and more spots of...

Buddhafield Festival 2013: Sound+Vision

Buddhafield Festival 2013: Sound+Vision

Fri, 27 Sep, 2013 - 16:13The theme for the 2013 Buddhafield Festival, Fire in the Heart, focused on the Buddhist practice of loving-kindness. This can help us discover the radiant, joyful heart within each of us. Loving kindness is revolutionary because it has the power to radically change the way we experience ourselves and the world, helping us cultivate true happiness and genuine compassion for others. Loving-kindness is not weak or passive, but is the strength that comes from seeing the true nature of suffering...

Buddhafield Festival 2013: Setup Report 1

Sun, 7 Jul, 2013 - 20:43I’ll be saying a bit more in a day or so about my experience of working at Glastonbury Festival with the Buddhafield Cafe, but I’m going to start this week with a few words about the early setup of the Buddhafield Festival.

Those of us that arrived directlly from Pilton - home of the Glastonbury Festival - were somewhat worn out, but we were all positive mental states and happy to arrive at Culmhead in what has been absolutely...

Buddhafield Festival Workshop Programme

Buddhafield Festival Workshop Programme

Wed, 19 Jun, 2013 - 10:58I think it’s fair to say that the Buddhafield Festival is a workshop-driven event. Whilst many Festivals push the live music as their primary draw — where a workshop programme is a sort of diversion at the edge of the programme — Buddhafield gives our bands equal billing to our workshops. We think that this gives the event a sort of balance, putting the emphasis on participation rather than spectacle.

Part of my job as Buddhafield webmaster is to...

Buddhafield Photography

Thu, 13 Jun, 2013 - 22:33I’ve recently uploaded a backlog of photos to the Buddhafield Flickr account.

I’ve been a consistent Buddhafield photographer since about 2010, when I bought a new Canon SX210 compact. I started because I was aware of a very serious lack of photos about the Buddhafield Café, with which I’ve volunteered and worked for about 14 years. I’d then recently taken on development of the Buddhafield website, www.buddhafield.com, which had been stuck in the...

the great Buddhafield Mud Appeal

Wed, 1 Aug, 2012 - 10:13Hey everyone, am reposting here an appeal from the Buddhafield Festival folk - they say: Dear all, This is an appeal to all that came to the Buddhafield festival this year, or who love the festival, or just love Buddhafield. As you know, it’s been an incredibly wet year. Those of us who went to the festival this year all survived the mud, but due to the conditions we spent about £10,000 more onsite than expected to keep everything afloat,...

Buddhafield Festival talks and photos now online

Thu, 26 Jul, 2012 - 06:47A week ago saw the end of the muddiest-ever the Buddhafield Festival - but rave reviews from many of the 2,900 festival-goers. We’ve been digging out some of the best photos we’ve found, and posting onto FreeBuddhistAudio a selection of the many talks given in the Dharma Parlour. There’s more to come - including the video versions - so watch this space! Some great photos of the Festival can be seen on Flickr or ...
