Welcome to Buddhafield

Buddhafield runs a programme of camping activities mostly in the south-west of England, focused around the teaching and practise of Buddhism and Buddhist meditation in nature.

We are currently fundraising for a new home for Buddhafield. This will be somewhere we can consolidate our resources, hold some of our events and practice values of authentic community, meaningful work, care for land and ecology and celebration of creativity and imagination with an even wider community. We are perhaps best known for organising our own, much-loved Buddhafield Festival and for the Buddhafield Café, which goes to festivals and fairs including Glastonbury Festival. We have an annual programme of Buddhist meditation retreat camps, including the Total Immersion Retreat and our fabulous Family Friendly Retreat. To see all our events for 2023 click here

Buddhafield Festival is currently held in the Blackdown Hills, Somerset, for five days in July. Quite apart from numerous Buddhism and meditation classes, we have a live music line-up, DJs and dance, a beautiful Healing Garden, a set of themed areas dedicated to Land, Social Change & Greencrafts There’s a legendary Kids Area and an awesome range of workshops, including a full, daily yoga and movement programme. All that plus great food, ethical shopping and lots of spectacular rituals.

The Buddhist teaching at the Festival happens in the Dharma Parlour which has its own space on thebuddhistcentre.com, where you’ll find links to recordings of most of the talks, courtesy of Free Buddhist Audio.. We have a gallery of Buddhafield photographs on Flickr as well as a YouTube channel

Each year we hold a two-week online retreat - At Home with the Elements where seven Dharma leaders take us through each of the six elements and then a couple of days in the Six Element practice.

Our biannual Green Earth Awakening Camp is where we focus on environmental and social justice issues as well as practice that recources those who meet these challenges in the world. In the interveneing years, we hold our Routes to Resilience retreat which is smaller and held as a retreat space but focuses on the same issues.

We are the proud owners and stewards of two beautiful pieces of land on Dartmoor and in the Blackdown Hills, both in Devon, England.
