The Heart of the Sorrow performanceOn Wed, 11 September, 2019 - 10:38
If you are in or near Manchester on Saturday September 28th, you are warmly invited to the Manchester Buddhist Centre for a one-off performance of The Heart of the Sorrow - the myth of Orpheus in the Underworld as told by Jinavamsa and Taradakini through their original songs and narrative. It’s an interpretation which draws out the significance of this myth for us today in turning towards the facts of our existence.
The 40 minute performance is to raise funds for the Abhayaratna Trust, which gives financial support to individual Triratna Buddhist Order members in need. There is no charge but we will welcome donations for the Local Care Network project.
No need to book, just turn up a few minutes before the 5.30pm start and stay on for a shared meal at 7pm after the concert if you like. Please bring some vegan food to share.
