Seacoast NH Young Sangha BAM eventsOn Wed, 27 May, 2015 - 16:59
Join other Seacoast Young Buddhists in our first full weekend event celebrating Buddhist Action Month! This exciting event joins young sangha members in their 20s and 30s from Aryaloka Buddhist Center, Boston Triratna, Nagaloka Buddhist Center, Portsmouth Buddhist Center and beyond to take part in two days of practice, discussion and radical action at Portsmouth Buddhist Center.
On Saturday we’ll have a special talk by visiting senior Order member Parami, where she’ll talk about the radical and countercultural roots of the Triratna Buddhist Community, past and present. Then we’ll have a picnic lunch and conversation on Engaged Buddhism at Prescott Park, followed by a “meditation flash mob” in downtown Portsmouth at Market Square (hopefully joined by other local Buddhist groups!). The day will be shared on social media so that we can connect with young Dharma brothers and sisters in other parts of the world.
Sunday is a chance to share in group meditation and get an in-depth look at the Triratna Young Sangha movement worldwide. We’ll discuss ways we can connect with the larger network of Young Buddhists as well as local opportunities to practice together and build spiritual friendships, planning ahead for future events.
We hope you’ll join us, and please feel free to bring along friends! The more the merrier!
